A quick message to let you know that the OEEESs are sponsoring the OE Environment Prize 2018 which will include £300 prize.
Not strictly a members’ event.
Additionally, if any members are able to offer boys internships (or similar experience), please get in touch with the OEEESs committee as this will be a massive value add.

The OE Environment Prize for Specialists is a significant cash prize awarded by a panel of OE professionals working in the sustainability sector of the best presentation on how to make Eton a more sustainable school.Proposals should be submitted in a presentation format of your choice by Monday the 17th of September.
Completed entries should be e-mailed to PFMH, ECP or DEA.
As well as a significant cash prize, entering the prize has many other benefits. All who enter can include that achievement in their UCAS Personal Statements.
Boys who have entered the prize in the past, have found that their projects form a useful focus for discussion at university interviews.
Shortlisted candidates will also be offered the opportunity to present at assemblies.

Gents, it’s been a while!
The Old Etonian Environment, Energy & Sustainability Society (OEEESs) has scheduled another event on the 4th April at Soho’s Hippodrome (starting roughly at 6h30pm).
Tessa Tennant, Non Executive Director of the Green Investment Bank, is confirmed as our guest speaker and I hope you can make it!
We will send formal RSPVs soon, but in the meantime – please save the date and spread the word to other interested OEs!
Tessa’s career has been quite remarkable and she has been a driving force for sustainable investment since the 80s. Her bio is below:
Tessa Tennant has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry. She is Non Executive President of The Ice Organisation, an Adviser to CarbonTracker, CDP and Influence Map and Project Originator of @Money4INDCs. She co-founded the Jupiter Ecology Fund, the UK’s first green equity investment fund in 1988 and has been centrally involved in the development of the green investment industry in the UK and overseas especially in Asia. She has served on fund, company and not-for-profit boards.
